Year 2: 10 weeks
The project
This comprised two phases, both carried out in adjacent summer holidays. Phase one comprised completely stripping out the current facility, back to the shell, installing new underground drainage, floors, roof and a full remodelling internally, followed 12 months later by phase two, upgrading the gym, dry-changing area and shop.
The challenge
We had to complete both phases of work within very tight time constraints, in addition to keeping the centre open for daily summer use of its facilities by the public.
The solution
Our site and project management team worked incredibly hard and long hours, utilising management planning and schedules. Plenty of flexibility was taken into account – and the team was able to react to the unexpected.
The result
The work was completed to the high standard for which Snibor is renowned, and the school was able to conduct normal, uninterrupted enjoyment of the facility and its daily lessons, without ever seeing a builder or the associated ‘tools’ – for two successive years.
