The project
Our clients had bought a dilapidated farmhouse, with the original intention of refurbishing. Quite quickly, they came to the decision that it made more sense to demolish the current house and build new. Planning permission was obtained for a bespoke house, built using traditional materials and design details. The internal floor area for the house covered 700m², with a further 400m² of floor space provided by the refurbishment of surrounding farm buildings.
The challenges
We had agreed on the year-long timescale to complete works and had to ensure that this was met, at the same time as delivering the high levels of quality which a project of this magnitude deserves.
The solution
Professional site management and office support were the mainstay to the success of this project. This allowed control of site quality and costs, with works scheduled and sequenced to allow follow-on trades people to achieve high levels of quality, while maintaining the clients’ timeframe.
The result
A stunning, traditional and beautiful house, with all modern home comforts blending in perfectly with its surroundings, yet standing out as exceptional, was achieved within the timeframe and within budget. The clients were delighted and have since been enjoying their home and all of its features.
